Micromechanical analysis of UD CFRP composite lamina under multiaxial loading with different loading paths

نویسندگان

چکیده

The influences of loading path on the failure unidirectional (UD) carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) composite laminae IM7/8552 are studied. A 3D representative volume element (RVE) based micromechanical model is established using finite method (FEM) to capture coupled effects fibres, matrix and fibre/matrix interface under different multiaxial conditions. An artificial neural network (ANN) adopted identify experimentally difficult-to-measure micro-parameters interface, such as thickness stiffnesses, for construction high-fidelity RVE. In order precisely control with consideration Poisson’s effects, RVE loaded by force at dummy points instead commonly used displacement approach. Three paths compared in each case, results show that strength patterns combined transverse out-of-plane compressions well in-plane shear independent paths.

Substructure Model for Concrete Behavior Simulation under Cyclic Multiaxial Loading

This paper proposes a framework for the constitutive model based on the semi-micromechanical aspects of plasticity, including damage progress for simulating behavior of concrete under multiaxial loading. This model is aimed to be used in plastic and fracture analysis of both regular and reinforced concrete structures, for the framework of sample plane crack approach. This model uses multilamina...

Finite Element Analysis of Different Hip Implant Designs along with Femur under Static Loading Conditions

Background: The hip joint is the largest joint after the knee, which gives stability to the whole human structure. The hip joint consists of a femoral head which articulates with the acetabulum. Due to age and wear between the joints, these joints need to be replaced with implants which can function just as a natural joint. Since the early 19th century, the hip joint arthroplasty has evolved, a...

Analysis of Concrete Bridge Girders Strengthened with Cfrp Laminates under Service and Extreme Loading Conditions

Externally bonded carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) laminates are a feasible and economical alternative to traditional methods for strengthening and stiffening deficient reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete girders as shown in Fig. (1). Although extensive research has already been undertaken to investigate the behavior of CFRP strengthened bridge girders, the majority of work condu...

Failure Procedure in Adhesive Composite Joints under Different Types of Loading

In this paper, we have used numerical simulation to study failure of adhesive joints in composite plates. To determine the failure load, adhesive joints are subjected to different types of loading and gradual failure of the joint is studied using the finite element method. The composite material failure theory is implemented into the FEM software. Also different geometries for the joint edge ar...
